This is a GREAT little product devised and built by Ted Crocker specifically for cigar box guitars and other homemade instruments. Designed to be an all-in-one bridge, pickup and tailpiece, the Happy Ending(tm) mounts directly to the top of your instrument where the bridge would usually go! This version of the Happy Ending pickup is intended for use on a 3-string instrument. Your strings are run through the base of it and then back around and over the brass rod saddle. Dual piezoelectric transducers are embedded in the pickup/bridge,with an 8-inch lead. Mounting this little beauty is as simple as drilling a small hole for the lead wires in the top of your instrument, and then screwing it in place! Since this pickup/bridge has to stand up to the full tension of the strings, you'll want to make sure you have proper bracing inside your instrument to screw it into, for stability. Once mounted, simply wire the leads to an output jack, file some notches for your strings and you are good to go! This beautiful, hand-crafted all-in-one means you don't have to worry about getting separate parts for your tailpiece, bridge and pickup - it's all there in one easy-to-install package.
